CHALLENGE OBJECTIVES
Go down a minimum of 100 meters deep.
Record the seabed for a minimum of 10 minutes.
Return to the surface under your own power.
In addition to these three minimum objectives, each team may propose other secondary objectives, such as: sampling, surface position sending, image analysis by AI,…
The challenge is not competitive, but its purpose is to learn from each of the participating teams, their successes and failures, and help raise awareness in society of the need to protect the marine environment through exploration.
CanGoDeep is not only a technological challenge, but also a scientific one, demonstrating that deep ocean exploration can also be done with more affordable means. All recorded material will be available to the scientific community.
In addition, it will also bring the ocean closer to the general public. Usually, when talking about the marine environment, people usually think of that easily accessible piece of coast. However, we are only seeing the tip of the iceberg. The CanGoDee challenge will allow you to show areas of the ocean that would otherwise remain completely hidden.
